Eco Foods

At our eco village factory site we’re researching food production and preparation processes that vastly increase nutritional value and yield using:
- vegetables grown with hydroponic sea-culture
- salads, dishes and bread from sprouted seeds & grains
- correct ecology natural feed livestock rearing
Meanwhile we’ll be keeping progress reports here showing the results. The research into raw paleolithic diet could offer important insights into methods to cleanse pathogens from your body & heal yourself through nutrition & diet.
Three months into our seaculture hydroponic experiment. After one month it was clear that the plants were lacking something! The addition of compost water (from our own rotating composter), urine and even a failed batch ofhome brew beer have worked wonders.Problems encountered include a growth of algae which we eliminated by using coarse neutral sand as a top layer; blocking of the gutters byover enthusiastic root growth, which cured itself after a few days; some slug and butterfly attack (not too much, a bit of manual pest control needed i.e. pick them off!). Next three onths should see the fruitful part of things, which will be the real test. Total cost of setup so far, including all the inputs except the polytunnel itself, is less than a hundred pounds.
